Taylorsville Utah Temple Groundbreaking Occurs

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Saturday, ground was broken for the Taylorsville Temple with Elder Gerrit W. Gong of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Quorum of Twelve Apostles presiding at the event.

Guests included local leaders representing communities in the temple district: Kearns, West Valley City, Taylorsville, Bennion, Murray and Cottonwood.

The Taylorsville Utah Temple will be constructed on a 7.5-acre site located at 2603 W. 4700 South in Taylorsville.

The three-story structure will be 70,000 square feet and include a center spire.

This temple was announced in October 2019 by Church President Russell M. Nelson.

Presently, there are 17 operating temples in Utah.
