SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, the president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Russell M. Nelson, launched a personal Instagram account in Spanish.

The purpose of this account is to reach more Latino and Hispanic members of the Salt Lake City-based faith.

This is the first Spanish-only social media account for a senior leader in the Church.

Pres. Nelson’s first post reflects on his time in Peru October 20, 2018.

At this time, Pres. Nelson and his wife, Wendy, visited Latino Latter-day Saints in Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina and Brazil.
