Philadelphia Temple Advances To Phase 2 April 19

SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed its temple at Philadelphia advances to Phase 2 of reopening April 19.

Under the Salt Lake City-based faith’s reopening policy for temples, Phase 2 consists of being open for all living ordinances only with restrictions.

The Philadelphia Temple was announced October 4, 2008 and dedicated September 17, 2011 by President Henry B. Eyring, the current Second Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church.

September 17 is a significant day in Philadelphia and United States history as September 17, 1787 is when the U.S. Constitution officially came into existence at Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Temple currently serves 11 stakes of the Church in eastern Pennsylvania, central and south New Jersey and Delaware.
