Man, Woman, Killed In Head-On Collision At Layton

LAYTON, Utah-Tuesday evening, two people were killed in a crash at Layton.

At approximately 11:10 pm, a Mazda sedan was traveling southbound just south of Tanglewood Drive when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes, hitting a Kia SUV head-on.

The driver of the Mazda, a 30-year-old man, was ejected from the car and died.

The Kia driver, a 50-year-old woman, was also killed, per a report from authorities.

No other passengers were inside the vehicles and police are investigating speed, alcohol or weather as possible factors in this crash.

Northbound U.S. Highway 89 was closed at Mutton Hollow Road and southbound at Oak Hills Drive for several hours after the crash.
