KHARTOUM, Sudan-Latter-day Saint Charities, the humanitarian arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is partnering with several humanitarian organizations to relieve suffering in Sudan.
Latter-day Saint Charities has joined forces with Rahma Worldwide of Beverly Hills, Mich., Elevate for Community Development, Mercy Corps (Portland, Ore.), Med Global (Chicago Ridge, Ill., CARE International (Geneva, Switzerland), UNICEF (New York) and other non-governmental organizations to combat the suffering of the Sudanese.
The Church’s efforts in Sudan have increased since a visit to the African nation from Elder David A. Bednar of The Quorum of Twelve Apostles of the Salt Lake City-based faith in February 2020.
Elder Bednar, as he met with Sudanese officials, asked if there were anything the Church could do to help.
