Heber City Police Department Receives Law Enforcement Accreditation Award

HEBER CITY, Utah-Per Monday news, the Heber City Police Department will be granted accreditation status by the Utah Chiefs of Police Association during the city council’s November meeting.

Accreditation is a way to assist law enforcement agencies in improving their overall performances by adopting policies and procedures that are conceptually sound and operationally effective.

UCOPA has pursued this concept and development of a voluntary statewide accreditation program for Utah law enforcement agencies.

The primary benefits of accreditation are greater accountability within the agency, liability reduction and increased community advocacy.

Heber City Police Chief David Booth and Heber City Mayor Heidi Franco each expressed appreciation for this achievement in Monday remarks.

This award shall be presented November 1 at 6:00 pm at the Heber City Council Chambers, 75 N. Main, Heber City.
