Further Information On Heber Homicide Revealed Friday

HEBER CITY, Utah-Friday, further information was released concerning the homicide which occurred Thursday in Heber City.

The suspect in the murder, 35-year-old Michael Asman had been seen leaving the Heber City Maverik Thursday morning at 1:30 am.

Surveillance photos of him are available.

He purchased some caffeine energy drinks and may have possibly been preparing for a long drive from Heber City.

Traditionally, the Heber City Police Department reports, he has camped in the mountains.

The police department advises Heber City residents to be careful if in the mountains. Furthermore, if residents have plans to go to a campsite, trailhead or to use a trailer in the near future, they are advised to be cautious and alert.

If any of the public have any information on the suspect’s whereabouts, they are encouraged to contact law enforcement immediately.

The victim, who has been revealed as 36-year-old Julie Ann Burns, has had her daughters, aged 6 and 10 respectively, placed in state custody by authorities because of concerns for their safety.

Preliminary autopsy results indicate the victim died because of a single gunshot to her head. Burns’ next-of-kin have been notified of her decease.
