ST. GEORGE, Utah-Tuesday, news broke that former Utah Gov. Gary Herbert will serve as the commencement speaker at Dixie State University graduation May 7.

At the ceremony, slated for Greater Zion Stadium on the Dixie State University campus, Herbert will address 2,273 DSU graduates.

Among these graduates are 25 master’s candidates, 1,212 baccalaureate candidates, 773 associate candidates and 263 certificate candidates.

Herbert served as Utah’s governor from 2009-2021. During his tenure, he focused on economic development, education, energy and government efficiency.

The commencement procession begins at 8:00 am and the ceremony will commence immediately following the procession.
