ROCHESTER, N.Y.-In news released Thursday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made 200 deliveries to food pantries and charities in New York.
This is to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the appearance of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ to Joseph Smith in the Sacred Grove near present-day Palmyra, N.Y.
Deliveries commenced in upstate New York last week near Rochester, N.Y. along with deliveries to the greater New York City area.
Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Church’s Quorum of Twelve Apostles announced this initiative earlier this year.
Barakah Muslim Charity of Rochester, N.Y. expressed gratitude for the Church’s endeavor on this matter.
Many thanks to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for sending a shipment to help towards our Food Pantry….

Eastern Service Workers of Rochester also received the Church’s contributions.
Eastern Service Workers and Barakah Muslim Charity each received 5,000 pounds of food.
This food was grown, picked and harvested from Church-owned farms in Utah and the Intermountain West and processed in canneries in Utah.
