Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Relief Society Is Having A Productive March

SALT LAKE CITY-Thus far in March, the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been serving around the world, doing the best they can to mollify the effects of COVID-19.

Relief Society general president Jean B. Bingham stated her hopes that a pilot nutrition program can be integrated into the Philippines, as well as other countries.

Bingham previously visited Cataman, Northern Samar, a northern Filipino province, where a pilot program was initiated in 2019.

She also traveled to Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines and observed children being scanned for malnutrition at a local meetinghouse.

March 7, at Chattanooga, Tenn., a women’s day of service occurred in the community. The Chattanooga Stake’s Relief Society President, Celeste Ward confirmed that the Church in the area was honored to be involved in the service activity. Several women proceeded to cut and tie fleece blankets that were later donated to children at local hospitals.

March 17, the Relief Society celebrated its 178th anniversary with a tribute to women with a video presentation that can be seen on YouTube.

The Relief Society was founded March 17, 1842.
