PROVO, Utah-Per news released Tuesday, Brigham Young University has named Jeff M. Simpson as the new managing director of BYU Broadcasting.
As of July 1, Simpson will assume control of BYU’s radio, television and digital channels.
This includes BYUtv.
He replaces Elder Michael A. Dunn, who was named as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints last April.
Simpson’s previous service includes time as president and publisher of The Deseret News, the chief operating officer of Deseret Book and CEO of Bonneville International.
He has also worked for Walt Disney Pictures and Buena Vista Television.
Simpson and his wife, Karen, had previously been called to preside over the Washington Yakima Mission but he has since accepted this assignment at the invitation of The First Presidency.
