PROVO, Utah-Monday, Brigham Young University confirmed the fall semester 2021 on the Provo campus will occur under traditional circumstances with mostly in-person classes.
The university cited decreasing covid-19 cases and increased vaccinations as the cause.
Furthermore, BYU will evaluate how virtual learning may have enhanced elements of certain courses and curricula while hoping to implement the best of these changes as it prepares for the upcoming semester.
The institution, which is owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will not require social distancing or masks during the fall semester.
This decision is subjected to change predicated upon disease prevalence trends and guidance from the Utah County Health Department and the Utah Department of Health.
If individuals would like to wear a mask, they are welcome to do so.
Monday is also the first time students may commence fall semester registration carts. Priority registration commences Monday June 7. BYU’s fall semester will commence Monday August 30.
