3.0 earthquake hits parts of southern Utah

PANGUITCH, Utah (AP) — A minor earthquake struck parts of southern Utah on Friday morning.

The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 3.0 and was centered about 7 miles west of Panguitch, the U.S. Geological Survey said. It happened at about 6:40 a.m. Quakes of that magnitude are among the smallest generally felt by people.
