FARMINGTON, Utah-Tuesday, Weber State and Southern Utah University each placed several representatives on the all-Big Sky football teams.
The 2021 Big Sky Offensive Player of the year is Eastern Washington redshirt senior quarterback Eric Barriere.
Barriere completed 67.5 percent of his passes for 4,257 yards, 40 touchdowns and 6 interceptions for the Eagles, who host Northern Iowa in the first round of the FCS playoffs Saturday at Cheney, Wash.
The conference defensive player of the year is Montana State senior linebacker Troy Andersen (111 total tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 sacks, 9.5 tackles for a loss).
Andersen and his Bobcats teammates have a first-round bye in the FCS playoffs and will host Tennessee-Martin or Missouri State December 4.
The conference newcomer of the year is Montana redshirt junior cornerback Justin Ford. Ford posted 8 interceptions, a sack and two tackles for a loss for the Grizzlies. Ford and his Montana teammates host the winner of Eastern Washington-Northern Iowa December 3.
The conference freshman of the year is Northern Arizona quarterback RJ Martinez. Martinez completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,714 yards, 14 touchdowns and 2 interceptions for the Lumberjacks.

Rashid Shaheed. Shaheed hauled in 39 receptions for 695 yards (17.8 yards per reception) and four touchdowns.
