5A State Championship @ UVU
OREM, Utah-AJ Thomas and Sawyer Leifson drove in two runs apiece and the No. 2 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles downed No. 1 Brighton 7-4 to win the 5A state baseball championship Saturday at UCCU Ballpark. Blake Carter posted four strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Golden Eagles. Cooper Scott had 2 RBI in defeat for the Bengals. The wi win was historic for the Golden Eagles as it is their first baseball state title in program history.
