SPRINGVILLE, Utah-Payton Esplin and Trent Ash each drove in a run and the Springville Red Devils waxed Wasatch 3-1 in Region 9 baseball play Thursday. Esplin posted six strikeouts in six innings of work for the Red Devils to secure the win on the mound. Jackson Bolender had an RBI in the loss for the Wasps. In defeat, Wasatch falls to 11-10 and 8-3 in Region 9 play. The Wasps and Red Devils meet at Heber City Friday in the rubber match of the series. PROVO, Utah-Payge Armendariz posted three RBI and the Wasatch Wasps clobbered Provo 17-0 in Region 9 softball play Thursday.

Aubreana Post netted four strikeouts in three innings of work for the Wasps to earn the win in the circle.
