Desert Hills Summit Tournament
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Sawyer Slade homered and Ollie Takahashi added a key RBI single as the Orem Tigers came back to beat Wasatch 7-6 Saturday at the Desert Hills Summit Tournament. Cohen Strickland added another RBI single for the Tigers, who broke a 6-6 tie in the 7th when Wasatch was assessed with a balk.
Crew Erickson, Jackson Kelson and Kelsen Stocking each had RBI in defeat for the Wasps. Wasatch concludes this tournament by playing against host Desert Hills Saturday at 1:30 pm.
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Eric Olsen came through with a clutch RBI in the bottom of the 6th Inning as the Desert Hills Thunder outlasted Wasatch 7-6 Saturday to conclude the Wasps’ time at the Desert Hills Summit Tournament.
Kalen Terry homered in the win for Desert Hills while Karson Irvin added an RBI in victory for the Thunder.
Jackson Bolender and Payton Swapp each homered in the loss for the Wasps with Cole Zimmerman also adding a pair of RBI.
After Spring Break, which occurs this next week, the Wasps will return to the St. George area by competing at the Buck’s Ace Hardware Invitational hosted by Snow Canyon High School. At this tournament, the Wasps will face Riverton, Skyline and Lone Peak.

Flyer Fire-Up
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Payge Armendariz netted 3 RBI and the Wasatch Wasps dismantled Sky View 7-1 Saturday at Dixie High School during the Flyer Fire-Up. Andrea Sweat earned eight strikeouts in the circle for the Wasps in victory. Carlee Watterson had the sole RBI in the loss for the Bobcats.
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Lianna Jones posted 3 RBI and the Wasatch Wasps improved to 6-0 by routing Morgan 12-4 to conclude their participation at the Flyer Fire-Up Saturday at Dixie High School.
Payge Armendariz earned the win in the circle, netting six strikeouts in five innings of work. Offensively, Armendariz added three hits for the Wasps.
Wasatch returns home for a Tuesday non-conference game against the West Panthers.
