HEBER CITY, Utah-Quezon Villa completed 21 of 41 passes for 316 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions and ran for 71 yards and two more scores as the Wasatch Wasps pulverized Maple Mountain 55-20 Friday at Wright-Tree Stadium in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs.
Chris Cook added two more touchdown runs for the No. 10 Wasps, who next visit Lehi Friday at 6:00 pm in the 5-A state second round.
La’akea Kalama (5 rec, 116 yards, TD) and Jarinn Kalama (10 rec, 109 yards, TD) also excelled for Wasatch, as did Nalu Kitashima (3 rec, 58 yards, TD).
Joshua Sanders returned an interception for another score for the Wasps.

WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah-Koy Dixon threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Bonneville Lakers edged Northridge 28-26 Friday in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs. AJ Tillman had three touchdown runs in defeat for the Knights.
Bonneville next faces No. 2 seed Timpview Friday at 6:00 pm in the second round.
EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah-Sione Vailahi had scoring runs of 62, 2 and 2 yards as the East Leopards hammered Cedar Valley 35-7 in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs Friday. Cooper Thomson threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to EJ Larsen in the loss for the Aviators. East next faces No. 6 Spanish Fork Friday at 6:00 pm in the second round.
VERNAL, Utah-Ethan Jackson threw five touchdown passes and the Alta Hawks embarrassed Uintah 54-13 Friday in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs. Josh Speirs threw a pair of touchdown passes in the loss for the Utes. Alta next faces top-seeded Springville Friday at 6:00 pm in the second round.
TOOELE, Utah-Daxton Sumko had a pair of scoring runs and returned a fumble 20 yards for another score as the Box Elder Bees got past Tooele 22-14 Friday in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs. The Bees next visit No. 8 Timpanogos Friday at 6:00 pm in the second round.
HOLLADAY, Utah-Seth Roberts had a pair of touchdown passes and the Olympus Titans decimated Payson 49-21 Friday in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs. Olympus next visits No. 3 Stansbury in the second round Friday at 6:00 pm.
SALT LAKE CITY-Blake Tabaracci threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to William McCurdy and added a 43-yard touchdown run as the Park City Miners humbled Skyline 27-10 in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs Friday. The Miners next visit No. 4 seed Bountiful Friday at 6:00 pm in the second round.
COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah-Cole Johnson ran for four scores and the Orem Tigers stymied Brighton 42-22 Friday in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs. Jack Johnson threw for two scores in defeat for the Bengals. The Tigers next visit No. 5 seed Provo Friday at 6:00 pm in the second round.
