HEBER CITY, Utah-Quezon Villa completed 28 of 40 passes for 419 yards and 6 touchdowns as the Wasatch Wasps outgunned Provo 45-41 Friday in Region 9 play at Wright-Tree Stadium, giving the Wasps a successful Senior Night.
La’akea Kalama added seven receptions for 169 yards and three scores for the Wasps in victory.
Joshua Sanders also had a strong showing for the Wasps, netting 8 grabs for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The Wasps conclude the regular season with a 6-3 record while Provo drops to 7-2.
By virtue of the Wasps’ win and Spanish Fork’s 41-13 rout of Maple Mountain Thursday, the Dons secured the Region 9 championship.
Upon the release of the final RPI, the Wasps will receive their playoff matchup and compete October 22 in the first round of the 5-A playoffs.
Because of the Wasatch School District taking all of next week off for Fall Break, the Wasps will not play October 15.
Furthermore, Ty & Ty’s Crossing the T’s broadcast will not air Wednesday evening this upcoming week.
