HEBER CITY, Utah-Monday, The Deseret News named Wasatch senior boys swimmer Jayden Hicken its boys swimming athlete of the week.

At the Region 9 swim championship meet at the Wasatch Aquatic Center this past week, Hicken posted his best times of the season in winning both the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke competitions.

Additionally, Hicken swam the second leg of the Wasps’ runner-up finish in the 200 medley relay.

Hicken’s contributions were instrumental in the Wasps’ region championship.

Hicken’s 21.82 time in the 50 freestyle is his best of the season in the event.

His 100 breaststroke time of 57.51 is the second-best in Utah this season.

Hicken is among the Wasps’ contributors going for a state title February 18 and 19 at BYU.
