Utah Football Places Six On All-Pac-12 1st Team; 13 On All Rosters

SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, Utah football placed 13 student-athletes on the 2022 preseason All-Pac-12 teams. The Utes also placed a conference-high six players on the first team roster.

The Utes’ designations on the all-Pac-12 squad are as follows:

1st Team All-Pac 12

junior offensive lineman Braeden Daniels

junior tailback Tavion Thomas (1,108 rushing yards, 5.4 yards per carry, 21 TD’s in 2021)

senior tight end Brant Kuithe (50 rec, 611 yards, 7 total TD’s in 2021)

sophomore defensive end Van Fillinger (5.5 sacks, 9.5 tackles for a loss in 2021). Fillinger is a former Corner Canyon High School star.

sophomore cornerback Clark Phillips III (2 interceptions, one forced fumble, one pick six in 2021)

sophomore safety Cole Bishop (3 sacks, 9 tackles for a loss)

2nd Team All-Pac 12

junior quarterback Cameron Rising (63.8 percent completion percentage, 2,493 yards, 20 TD’s/5 INT’s in 2021)

sophomore offensive lineman Sataoa Laumea

sophomore defensive tackle Junior Tafuna (4.5 sacks, 5.5 tackles for a loss in 2021. Tafuna had a highly successful Tuesday as he was also named to the Nagurski and Outland Trophy watch lists). Tafuna is a former Bingham High School star.

Honorable Mention All-Pac 12

junior cornerback JaTravis Broughton (interception, 2.5 tackles for a loss in 2021).

senior linebacker Mohamoud Diabate (2.5 tackles for a loss, 89 total tackles at Florida last season. Diabate joins the Utes as a transfer.)

senior tight end Dalton Kincaid (36 rec, 510 yards, 8 TD’s in 2021).

sophomore receiver Devaughn Vele (12 rec, 389 yards, TD in 2021)
