Rainiers Prevail Over Bees Monday In Series Opener

TACOMA, Wash.-Jake Slaughter, Jonatan Clase and Tyler Locklear each homered and the Tacoma Rainiers downed Salt Lake 7-3 Monday at Cheney Stadium in the series opener in Pacific Coast League play.

Blas Castano posted five strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Rainiers.

Jack López drove in two runs in the loss for the Bees.

Following Monday’s results, the Rainiers improved to 46-36 while the Bees slumped to 35-46.

The squads return to action Tuesday at 8:05 pm at Cheney Stadium for the second game in the series.
