SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, Utah men’s basketball head coach Craig Smith confirmed the NCAA granted senior shooting guard Both Gach his waiver.

This means the 6-6 native of Austin, Minn. is immediately eligible to play for the Utes Saturday evening at home against Sacramento State.

Smith lauded Gach’s professionalism and confirmed the Utes are excited to have him back and playing for the squad against the Hornets.

Gach commenced his collegiate career at Utah before transferring to Minnesota last season.

This past offseason, Gach returned to the Utes’ program.

Gach’s most productive season as a collegian came in 2019-20 when he averaged 10.7 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Utes.

For his career with the Utes and Golden Gophers, Gach averages 8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
