OGDEN, Utah-Tuesday, Weber State sophomore point guard Dillon Jones has been named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the week.
Jones, a native of Columbia, S.C., helped the Wildcats to a 3-0 record at the Jersey Mike’s Classic this past week with victories over Massachusetts, Ball State and Green Bay.
Sunday’s win over the Phoenix was the 300th in the career of head coach Randy Rahe (300-179, .626; 2006-present).
Jones averaged 15.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for the Wildcats in the wins over the Minutemen, Cardinals and Phoenix, while shooting 65.5 percent from the field.
On the season, Jones is averaging 13.8 points and 11 rebounds per game and shooting 66.7 percent from the field.
The Wildcats are presently 5-0, their best start since the 1985-86 season.
Weber State returns to action Saturday to face Dixie State at St. George.
