Bees Win Sixth Straight Wednesday With Pioneer Day Victory Over El Paso

SALT LAKE CITY-Charles Leblanc belted a grand slam and the Salt Lake Bees bested El Paso 9-5 Wednesday at Smith’s Ballpark to have a successful Pioneer Day game in Pacific Coast League play.

Reid Detmers posted five strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees.

José Azocar and Eguy Rosario homered in the loss for the Chihuahuas.

Following Wednesday’s results, the Bees, winners of six straight and five straight since the All-Star break, improved to 46-51 while the Chihuahuas fell to 40-58.

The Bees and Chihuahuas return to action Thursday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark for the third game of the series.
