SALT LAKE CITY-Jose Herrera drove in three runs and the Reno Aces surged past Salt Lake 8-3 Thursday in Pacific Coast League play at Smith’s Ballpark.
Francisco Morales posted five strikeouts in two innings at work to earn the win on the mound for the Aces. Morales earned his first win of the season to improve to 1-3.
Willie Calhoun drove in three runs for the Bees in defeat.
The Bees, who have now lost their last six games, fell to 6-12 on the season. Reno, meanwhile, improved to 9-8.
The squads return to action Friday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark as the series ensues.
