(Orem, UT) — The chief of police at Utah Valley University has resigned, a little over a year after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The rightwing commentator was gunned down last September during an event at UVU. Chief Jeff Long reportedly submitted his resignation earlier this month. He was one of several university officials named by Kirk’s family in a notice of claim to sue. They claim the school was negligent, and UVU President Astrid Tuminez resigned back in May. Now Eric Beveridge will serve as acting police chief.
