Utah voters elected Democrat Ben McAdams to the new First Congressional District. The Associated Press projects McAdams defeating Republican Riley Owen and three other candidates. The former congressman returns to Washington after previously representing Utah from 2019 to 2021. Republican Congressman Blake Moore has a small lead over Democratic challenger Peter Crosby in House District 2. The district covers much of Utah north of Salt Lake City. Moore first won his seat in 2020 and the district was redrawn last year after a judge changed the boundaries. Right now, the race is too close to call. Republican Congresswoman Celeste Maloy defeated her Democratic challenger Kent Udell last night in House District 3. That seat covers all of Southern and Eastern Utah. Maloy appears to be winning reelection by about 20 percent. In the fourth district Republican Congressman Mike Kennedy has fended off a challenge from Democrat Jonny Larsen. That district covers many areas south and west of Salt Lake City. It appears that Kennedy will win by at least 10 percent.
