(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah has sued prediction-market company Kalshi over wagers offered to residents. The attorney general’s office filed the case yesterday, alleging the platform amounts to illegal gambling and a public nuisance under state law. Kalshi markets contracts tied to the outcomes of elections, sports and other events. The lawsuit asks a court to stop the company from offering those contracts in Utah.
