(St. George, UT) — Utah is in the middle of the road as a place to be a police officer. A recent study by finance website WalletHub ranked all 50 states based on police-friendliness, such as how much the average salary is for an officer. It also looked at the number of police deaths and how much is spent on police protection. Utah was ranked 26th overall on the list, but ranked sixth in the job hazards and protection category. California was ranked as the best state for police officers.
