HEBER CITY, Utah-In news released Monday, three Wasatch High School seniors discovered they have received either Reserve Officers’ Training Corps scholarships or appointments to military academies.
These protagonists are Kyler Cox, Rosalyn Giese (who each received an Air Force ROTC Type 7 scholarship, Giese has also been offered a scholarship to a US Air Force Academy prep school for one year that would lead to a direct USAFA appointment in a year) and Owen Erker.

Erker has been offered an Air Force ROTC Type 1 scholarship and direct entry appointments to the USAFA and US Naval Academy.
Recipients of ROTC scholarships must have exemplary GPA’s, rank highly in their respective classes and on their ATC scores (average composite score ranging from 30-32).
Other factors considered include performance in fitness, athletics, leadership and extracurricular activities as well as interviewing skills.
