The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints With Groundbreaking News

SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed groundbreaking ceremonies for two temples.

The Farmington New Mexico Temple groundbreaking ceremony will occur April 30. Elder Anthony D. Perkins of the Quorum of the Seventy will preside at the event.

This will be New Mexico’s second temple with the first, the Albuquerque Temple, being dedicated in March 2000.

There are 69,488 Latter-day Saints in New Mexico in 14 stakes and 138 congregations.

Ground will be broken on the Lindon Utah Temple April 23.

Presiding at this event will be Elder Kevin W. Pearson of the Quorum of the Seventy.

Upon this event, Utah will have 28 temples either announced, under construction or under renovation.
