Sunday COVID-19 Statistics in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday, COVID-19 statistics were updated for Utah by the Utah Department of Health.

Since statistics have been kept, there have been 21,100 recorded cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 472 in the past 24 hours, but represents a -106 decrease in the same span.

Since Friday, there has been a net decrease of 204 COVID-19 cases in the past 48 hours.

There have now been 11,931 recovered cases of COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 273 cases in the past 24 hours but a net decrease of 288 in the same span.

Presently, 56.5 percent of all COVID-19 cases in the Beehive State have recovered.

There are presently 9,002 active cases of COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 199 active cases in the past 24 hours in the Beehive State and a net increase of 183 active cases in the same span.

Currently, 42.66 percent of all COVID-19 cases in Utah are active cases.

There have been 328,449 total tests administered for COVID-19 in Utah since statistics have been kept. This is an increase of 5,697 tests in the past 24 hours.

This caused another slight rise in the overall positive test percentage as it checks in Sunday at 6.42 percent. However, in the past 24 hours, a significant drop occurred in the positive test percentage. Sunday, the 24-hour positive test percentage checked in at 8.28 percent. Saturday, it was at 11.04 percent.

Since statistics have been kept for COVID-19 in the Beehive State, there have been 1,396 hospitalizations for COVID-19. The current hospitalizations rose by three to 192. However, the current hospitalization percentage dropped in the past 24 hours to 13.75 percent.

Current hospitalizations for COVID-19 in ICU increased by six in the past 24 hours to 83. This means that 43.22 percent of COVID-19 current hospitalizations are in ICU. While this is a significant increase from Saturday’s 40.7 percent, it is well below Friday’s 46.97 percent.

The current ICU use in all hospitals in Utah is 66.2 percent.

There were no new deaths in Utah from COVID-19 Sunday. This keeps the death count at 167 while the nation’s lowest death rate from COVID-19 dropped to 0.00791 percent.

In Wasatch County Sunday, there was one new case of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. This increases the total to 400 net cases of COVID-19 in Wasatch County. The hospitalizations (21) and deaths (3) remain unchanged in Wasatch County in the past 24 hours. The last death in Wasatch County from COVID-19 occurred June 19.
