SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday’s COVID-19 statistics for Utah, as released this afternoon, show some promise for the future.
While the overall positive test case total increased to 4,123 in the Beehive State Sunday, an increase of 175 from Saturday which means a net increase of 9 cases in the past 24 hours, the overall positive test percentage rate continues to drop.
With 95,702 total tests having been administered in Utah , the overall positive test percentage has dropped to 4.308 percent so the curve is continuing to flatten.
5,496 tests were administered in Utah from Saturday-Sunday, meaning that 3.2 percent of Utahns tested in the past 24 hours tested positive for COVID-19.
There have been 345 hospitalizations for COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 16 hospitalizations from Saturday-Sunday.
However, the best news of the day is that there were zero deaths in the past 24 hours in Utah from COVID-19.
Monday, Governor Herbert will address the Utah media at the State Capitol building as he unveils more plans to reopen the economy.
