SALT LAKE CITY-One person was taken into custody and another was hospitalized in serious condition after a stabbing on a TRAX train Wednesday, per Utah Transit Authority officials.

This stabbing occurred after an altercation between two people on a southbound blue train after 10:00 am, per UTA spokesman Carl Arky.

The altercation led to a stabbing around Murray where one man suffered multiple stab wounds.

The individual, whose name and age were not immediately made available by officials, remained on the train until they got off at Crescent View Station in Sandy.

The person was treated and taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Arky said the man is expected to survive.

The accused stabber got off the train at another stop. The person was taken into custody before noon, per Arky.

Their name and age were not immediately released. No other passengers were injured. The stabbing remains under investigation.
