LDS Church Opposes Dismissal Of Mormon Stories Lawsuit

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is pushing back against efforts to dismiss its trademark lawsuit against the “Mormon Stories” podcast. The Church filed its opposition yesterday and publicly addressed the case for the first time since suing podcast founder John Dehlin and the Open Stories Foundation earlier this year. A Church spokesperson says the dispute is not over the podcast’s use of the word “Mormon,” but branding and design elements it claims could confuse people into believing the podcast is affiliated with the Church. Dehlin says his legal team is reviewing the latest filing.
