(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says it is on the verge of setting a new record for full-time missionaries. Church President Dallin H. Oaks says more than 87-thousand members are currently serving missions, just below the previous high of 88-thousand set in 2014. Oaks says that record is expected to be surpassed in the coming weeks. Earlier this year, the church also reported a record 385-thousand converts in 2025 and announced the creation of 55 new missions worldwide.
