LaVerkin Hill Fire Starts Tuesday Evening; Is Contained Wednesday Morning

The La Verkin Fire is now 100 percent contained

Tuesday, after the Anderson Junction Fire at Toquerville was contained, another fire started miles away in La Verkin as gusts, which were as high as 40 miles per hours, created the La Verkin Hill Fire.

As of 9:30 pm, it had burned 200 acres and was at 10 percent containment.

This fire reportedly started around 6:45 pm half a mile east of La Verkin.

This blaze is near La Verkin Overlook Road, south of S.R. 9 per a press release.

No structures were threatened at the time and no evacuations have been ordered. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
