Hundreds of Utahns Gather To Rally For Revival of Utah Businesses

SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, hundreds of Utahns gathered on the lawn at Washington Square in Salt Lake City to express their displeasure with how the federal government is handling the shutdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was entitled the first Utah Business Revival and has been portended for days on Twitter.

Utah has been under a soft lock-down since March 27 when Governor Gary Herbert unleashed his “Stay Safe Stay Home” directive.

In comments Herbert made Friday at the State Capitol Building, the directive has since been softened in several respects.

The Utah Business Revival is planning another gathering May 2 in the Vineyard neighborhood of Salt Lake City.

St. George resident Eric Moutsos, a key protagonist in Saturday’s protest, said local businesses are invited to set up booths next Saturday to bring in some much-needed money during these trying times.
