Ground Broken For New LDS Temple In Brazil

(Santos, Brazil) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has broken ground on a new temple in Santos, Brazil. Church leaders and local officials gathered Saturday for the ceremony, with speakers saying the temple will bring spiritual blessings while supporting the continued growth of the Santos community. The two-story temple will be built in the Jabaquara neighborhood and will span about 23-thousand square feet. It will become one of 24 Latter-day Saint temples in Brazil that are operating, under construction or in development.
