Governor Wants Bell-To-Bell School Cell Phone Ban

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox wants to ban cell phone use at schools from bell-to-bell. He was joined by Republican State Senator Lincoln Fillmore yesterday as they pushed for the bill in this year’s legislative session. Not every lawmaker is on board. Senator Kathleen Riebe told KUTV that it sounds heavy handed. In recent years, cell phone bans have become popular in various states across the nation.
