Flaming Gorge Is Closed Because of Coronavirus

FLAMING GORGE NATIONAL RECREATION AREA, Utah/Wyo.-Wednesday, Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area confirmed it will be closed until further notice because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Annually, this is usually the day Flaming Gorge opens up to the public but it will remain closed until further notice, per a press release from the Bureau of Reclamation.

This is in an effort to follow the Centers for Disease Control policy as well as Utah Governor Gary Herbert’s “Stay Safe Stay Home” directive.

In the press release, the Bureau of Reclamation stated, this is because “the health and safety of the public and our employees is our No. 1 priority.”
