Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Postpones Washington DC Temple Open House and Rededication Dates

KENSINGTON, Md.-Wednesday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed that because of COVID-19, the open house, youth devotional and re-dedication of the Washington D.C. Temple have been postponed until large public gatherings are deemed to be safe.

The re-dedication had been slated for Sunday December 13 in three sessions and the open house for September 24-October 31.

This temple was first dedicated December 7, 1968 by Elder Hugh B. Brown of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles.

Upon its re-dedication, the Washington D.C. Temple, which is currently closed for renovation, will serve 36 stakes in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia and West Virginia.
