BYU Hosts Virtual Women’s Conference

PROVO, Utah-Monday, it was confirmed that the BYU women’s conference this week will occur virtually.

This event is cosponsored by the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The event commences May 1 as the sessions are being broadcast online for free.

The theme for this year’s event is “Gather All Safely in Christ,” and will be streamed online in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

The general session commences at 10:00 am and will feature remarks from the chair of this year’s conference, Sandra Rogers and a managing historian of the Church History department, Kale Holbrook, will make a presentation, titled “The Continuing Restoration and Gathering of Israel.”

The general session will be streamed online on churchofjesuschrist.org, the Church’s YouTube channel and various social media channels.

The videos will also be archived on both the Church’s and BYU’s Web sites.

Following the live stream, leaders of the Church will answer questions submitted by women all over the world in a prerecorded “Sister to Sister” conversation at 11:00 am.

This panel features Sister Reyna I. Aburto, the second counselor in the Relief Society general presidency, Sister Becky Craven, the second counselor in the young women’s general presidency and Sister Lisa L. Harkness, the first counselor in the Primary general presidency. Sister Tracy Browning of the Relief Society general board will moderate the discussion.

At noon, four video-on-demand sessions will be available on YouTube. Speakers for this session include Sister Jean B. Bingham, the Relief Society general president of the Church and Sister Sharon Eubank, also of the Relief Society general presidency.
