HEBER CITY, Utah-Ryder Burton tossed touchdown passes to Bradey Mortensen (3 and 52 yards) and Cole Clement (17 yards) as the Springville Red Devils torched Wasatch 45-24 Friday at Wright-Tree Stadium in Region 9 play, spoiling Homecoming for the Wasps.
The Wasps took a 24-22 lead into the 4th Quarter before Springville’s 23-0 4th Quarter run which propelled the No. 1 in 5-A Red Devils to the victory over the No. 6 Wasps.
Quezon Villa threw touchdown passes of 10 and 15 yards to BYU signee Jarinn Kalama for the Wasps in the loss.
Ashton Southam added a 24-yard field goal for the Wasps in defeat and Wasatch scored another touchdown on a fumble recovery in the victory.
Wasatch falls to 5-2 (2-1 in Region 9 play) with the loss and visits Spanish Fork next Friday at 7:00 pm to continue region play.
