ST. GEORGE, Utah-Asher O’Hara threw touchdown passes of 11 and 2 yards to Marshel Martin as the Sacramento State Hornets humbled Dixie State 19-7 in the season opener for both squads Saturday at Greater Zion Stadium.
Kyle Stenkowski added a 40-yard field goal for the Hornets in the win and Josiah Erickson forced Dixie State signal-caller Kody Wilstead (15-31, 158 yards, INT) into an intentional grounding in the end zone, resultig in a safety.
Wilstead had the sole score in the loss for the Trailblazers on a 12-yard touchdown run.
Dixie State returns to action Saturday evening by hosting Weber State.
