Triple A-West

TACOMA, Wash.-Luis Liberato and Jose Marmolejos each contribued RBI as the Tacoma Rainiers waxed Salt Lake 3-1 at Cheney Stadium Friday in Triple A-West play.

Preston Palmeiro had an RBI groundout in defeat for the Bees.

Tacoma improved to 56-42 on the season with the victory with Nick Duron winning his first game of the season on the mound for the Rainiers. Salt Lake fell to 43-54 with the loss.

The Bees and Rainiers meet again Saturday at 8:05 pm at Cheney Stadium.

OGDEN, Utah-Jared Akins homered and the Missoula Paddleheads bested Ogden 11-8 at Lindquist Field Friday in Pioneer League play.

Palmer Wenzel earned the win on the mound for the Paddleheads as Missoula improved to 55-29.

Reese Alexiades had 3 RBI in the loss for the Raptors, who fell to 46-38 in defeat.

The Paddleheads and Raptors meet again Saturday at 6:30 pm at Lindquist Field.
