Utah Pro Baseball Roundup: 8/15

Triple A-West

SALT LAKE CITY-Luis Rengifo scored on a 7th Inning ground force out by Jose Rojas and the Salt Lake Bees outlasted Sacramento 4-3 Sunday afternoon at Smith’s Ballpark in Triple A-West play.

Rengifo added an RBI double in victory for the Bees while Gavin Cecchini also stepped up with a 6th Inning RBI double for Salt Lake.

Kyle Tyler earned his first win of the season on the mound for the Bees, improving to 1-1. Salt Lake improved to 41-47 with the victory, their second in a row.

Jaylin Davis and Bryce Johnson had RBI in the loss for Sacramento, as the River Cats fell to 38-50.

The Bees and River Cats meet again Monday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.

Pioneer League

OGDEN, Utah-Jakob Goldfarb and David Mayberry each homered and the Ogden Raptors surged past Billings 14-8 at Lindquist Field Sunday in Pioneer League play.

Justin Watland earned the win on the mound for the Raptors, who improved to 42-32 with the victory.

Brandt Broussard homered in defeat for the Mustangs as they fell to 34-40.

The Raptors and Mustangs conclude their series Monday at 7:00 pm at Lindquist Field.
