USU Football’s Savon Scarver Named Preseason MW Special Teams Player of Year

LAS VEGAS-Thursday, Utah State football senior receiver/kick returner Savon Scarver was named as the Mountain West Conference’s preseason special teams player of the year.

Scarver, a native of Las Vegas, received the distinction at the Cosmpolitan of Las Vegas during the second day of the conference’s football summit.

Scarver possesses the Aggies’ school record with six kickoffs returned for scores during his decorated career.

This also ranks him second in Mountain West Conference history and 5th all-time in NCAA history.

Scarver averages 28.7 yards per return for his career, ranking him third in school annals.

In 2018, Scarver was named as a consensus All-American as a returner/all-purpose player.

The Aggies commence their season September 4 at Washington State. Their home opener is the next week as they host North Dakota September 10.
