Utah Pro Baseball Roundup: 7/16

Triple A-West

TACOMA, Wash.-Donovan Walton, Taylor Trammell and Jose Marmolejos each homered as the Tacoma Rainiers pounded the Salt Lake Bees 10-2 Friday at Cheney Stadium in Triple A-West play.

Darren McCaughan earned the win on the mound for the Rainiers, who improved to 5-3 on the season. Tacoma improved to 33-28 with the victory.

Brandon Marsh and Brennon Lund each hit solo home runs for the Bees in defeat, dropping them to 30-32.

The Bees and the Rainiers meet again Saturday at 8:05 pm at Cheney Stadium.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Kona Quiggle and Tyler Kelly each had a pair of RBI as the Idaho Falls Chukars pounded the Ogden Raptors 8-0 at Melaleuca Field Friday in Pioneer League play.

Austin Dubsky went the distance on the mound, surrendering six hits in his shutout victory.

The Chukars improved to 34-14 on the season while the Raptors fell to 29-19.

The Chukars and Raptors conclued this series Friday but the two squads meet Saturday at Lindquist Field for a 7:00 pm opening pitch.
